What's a CSA?
CSA stands for community supported agriculture. Small farms around the country have taken on this model to call on neighbors to send the message that we want a better model for the farmer, the animal and the environment. Why a CSA? When you purchase meat through our CSA, you're choosing to put the animal, the farmer, Vermont's pastoral landscape, and the environment above all else. As farmers raising high-quality, naturally raised, animal-first meats, we cannot compete with grocery store prices. Where we excell is in optimizing flavor and raising animals in a humane way that allows the animals to live their best lives while tending the climate crisis through our grazing practices. As farmers, we benefit from year round cash flow, that ensures that the animals receive what they need when they need it. How it works. Every ten shares receives two sheep, two pigs, sixty chickens and one majestic highlander over the course of 12 months. For the single shareholder this represents anywhere from 7-13 pounds of meat a month, delivered from our farm to your door. We offer several drop-off points, please contact for more info. As a shareholder you are invited to enter the world of the farm through on farm dinners, our newsletter, and direct communication with our farmers. We encourage farm visits by appointment, or at one of our open farm days. For only $100 a month you support a small family farm, receive naturally raised meat, and enjoy a taste of farm life. CSA holders enjoy discounts on sleigh rides and other products. What to expect. We chose 7-13 pounds of meat because that fits in a standard freezer of most refridgerators. Which means that a single person has access to the same CSA benefits without a chest freezer. Some cuts of meat you can look forward to are ground beef, a variety of steaks including tenderloins, bacon, sausage, chicken breasts, leg quarter, leg of lamb and more. How to get it.
